Walmart On Parkway East Offering Walk-In Vaccines
The Walmart Supercenter on Parkway East will offer COVID-19 vaccines without an appointment Saturday.
BIRMINGHAM, AL — With the COVID-19 vaccine now available to anyone over the age of 16 in Alabama, finding an appointment to actually get the vaccine has still been an issue in the state. Saturday, the Walmart Supercenter in Center Point will offer the vaccine without an appointment.
The event will take place at the Walmart at 9248 Parkway East Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., and while appointments are available, anyone can receive the vaccine with or without an appointment.
The Moderna vaccine will used during the event, and customers 18 and older can schedule their appointment at http://www.walmart.com/covidvaccine.

Jefferson County, with a population of nearly 660,000 residents, has a vaccination rate at just under 30 percent as of last week.
Statewide, more than 2.1 million vaccine doses have been administered thus far, with 880,000 people in the state fully vaccinated.
