New FedEx, cold storage, and NorthLink Aviation facilities, plus long-range planning and sustainability work, aim to support growing cargo and passenger traffic. Officials say one in seven Anchorage residents already work at the airport.

Flying freight in Alaska is different (ajot.com) — Anchorage plays a central role in Alaska’s cargo lifeline, with Northern Air Cargo running new nonstop freighter service between Seattle and Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport to speed goods into rural communities. The piece profiles NAC’s Anchorage-based operations, its role in disaster relief flights, and how it moves oversized freight to places like Nome, Bethel, and the North Slope.
   

4. Owner of Anchorage bike shop gets his stolen bikes back after 7 years sitting in evidence (alaskasnewssource.com) — An Anchorage bike shop owner has finally gotten nine high-end bicycles back more than seven years after they were stolen and held as evidence in a long-running court case. The bikes, recovered in an Anchorage storage unit shortly after the 2018 burglary, sat in APD’s Property and Evidence until the criminal cases wrapped up this summer. They’re now back on the sales floor at Speedway Cycles at a discount.
   

5. ‘They push each other': South's undefeated wrestlers heading into state tournament (adn.com) — South Anchorage High’s boys wrestling team is sending 10 region champions to this weekend’s ASAA state tournament at the Alaska Airlines Center, including three undefeated standouts. Local wrestlers and coaches describe how intense practices, strong team culture, and alumni support in Anchorage have them aiming for multiple state titles.
