UAA celebrates Juneteenth on Thursday, June 17 at 7 p.m., with a 30th anniversary
showing of Boyz N The Hood at Century 16, and on Saturday, June 19 at 1 p.m. at the
Juneteenth Citywide Celebration. We will have Juneteenth trivia and FREE Juneteenth
t-shirts from UAA!

June 17 | 7 p.m. | UAA at the Movies: Boyz n the Hood2021 marks the 30th anniversary of the film that was a critical and commercial success
praised for its emotional weight, acting, and writing. It was nominated for Best Director
and Best Original Screenplay at the 64th Academy Awards, making John Singleton the
youngest person and the first African-American to be nominated for Best Director.
In 2002, it was deemed “culturally, historically, and aesthetically significant” by
the Library of Congress and selected for the National Film Registry.

Northway Mall. We will have Juneteenth trivia and FREE Juneteenth t-shirts from UAA!
