Berkeley Art Practice students exhibit off-campus at Belmont Village Senior Living

More than 100 people attended the opening of the second art exhibit co-hosted by Berkeley Retirement Center, the Berkeley Department of Art Practice and Belmont Village Senior Living Albany. The juried show features fifteen student art pieces. "I am very proud of the students who participated in this exhibit," said Allan DeSouza, Chair, Department of Art Practice. "We appreciate this partnership as it affords our students the opportunity to exhibit and show their work.” According to Cary Sweeney, MS, Director UC Berkeley Retirement Center, “The theme of encouraging conversation between the generations, from the artist and the elder – proved powerful, for both the works displayed and the dialogue. The guests were impressed by the student talent.” Pictured (l-r) Belmont Village Activities Program Coordinator Liza Worden, Cary Sweeny, Belmont Village Executive Director Michelle Moros, and Allan DeSouza. Belmont Village Senior Living Albany designed their Town Hall community room as an art gallery.
