DEL MAR, CA -- You have your outfit ready and your one-of-a-kind-hat, but where will you dine for opening day of the Del Mar Racing Season? With the highly anticipated day just right around the corner —July 18 —here are just five places to check out before or after you make your bests.
Fish Market Del Mar
San Diego favorite, Fish Marketoffers a variety of fresh seafood in a comfortable environment. For Opening Day, the restaurant will offer $1 oysters, $2 chilled prawns and $3 fish tacos between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. For happy hour, you can also expect deals on calamari, ceviche, beer and wine.

Brigantine
Here's another option for you seafood lovers. Brigantine brings a variety of seafood to Del Mar, including tasty eats like a calamari sandwich, crab cake sandwich and an oyster bar. If you're not wanting something other than seafood, try the short rib poutine or the buffalo cauliflower.

Pamplemousse
Take our dining level to another level with Chef Jeffrey Strauss at Pamplemousse Grille. Bringing a decadent menu to Del Mar, you can expect lobster ravioli, fried oysters salad and kobe beef burger, among other options. Happy Hour runs from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. where you can expect deals on shrimp cocktail, duck tacos and po boy sliders.
Viewpoint Brewing Co.
If you're looking for a great glass of craft beer, stop by this brewpub directly across from the racetrack. Viewpoint Brewing Co. offers everything from blonde ales to pale ales. Cucina Enoteca
Finally, at the Flower Hill Promenade is Cucina Entoeca, which never disappoints. The eatery brings Italian flavors to the area with a variety of pasta and pizza dishes to choose from. For happy hour, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., expect deals on drinks and food like polenta, aranchini and parmesan fries.
