Lajolla boys wins 3rd CIF Title in a row

By David A. Willauer-Contributing Writer-5-19-18-San Marcos High School-San Marcos, CA-For the second year in a row the LaJolla Vikings known for their comebacks in their lacrosse games pulled a huge win today as they defeated the Falcons of Scripps Ranch by a 10-8 score.

The Vikings early in the first quarter took a 2-1 lead on Finn Walsh's 4 goals. The Falcons came back and realed 4 straight goals to take a 5-2 lead at the half.

In the second half, LaJolla had tied the game at 6-6 on Pat Ryan's goal with the assist from Oee Wintriger, and scored 4 more goals to take a 10-6 lead and won by a 10-8 score.

LaJolla performers: Finn Walsh 4 goals and wins Sportsmanship Award, Cavan Walsh 2 goals and 2 assists, Pat Ryan 2 goals, Nate Ryan 1 assist. Oee Wintriger and Tynan Walsh 1 goal and 1 assist. Mogic Watson 8 saves.

Scripps Ranch performers: Osheem Modzmaia 5 goals 1 assist,Joey Tudor 2 goals 1 assist, Ethan Taylor 1 goal and 1 assist. Paul Zajac wins Sportsmanship Award. Justin Nguyen recorded 11 saves.

These 2 schools met last year and this is their third appearance each. LaJolla wins their 3rd CIF Boys Lacrosse Title in a row.
