Del Mar Races Presents First-Ever Grill Fest
Guests can taste and judge a variety of barbecue samplers.
What better way to enjoy the races than with some good barbecue?
The Del Mar races will host the first-ever Del Mar Grill Fest on Saturday, Aug. 17 from noon to 6 p.m.
If you can grill it, Del Mar has it, from ribs to salmon sliders to grilled cheese sandwiches to grilled banana boats.

More than 25 grillers will show off their cooking skills, and guests can vote for their favorite “people’s choice” grillers.
Racetrack admission is $6, and barbecue will be available in 2.3 oz. sample sizes, 5 for $10. If gluttony is a sin, don’t feel guilty, because proceeds from the event will benefit Kristie’s Place, which cares for critically ill children.

The intense grilling and finger licking will take place at the Seaside Concert Area of the Del Mar Racetrack, located at 2260 Jimmy Durante Blvd. in Del Mar.
