A gray whale carcass was removed this morning from Torrey Pines State Beach.
The dead juvenile whale was spotted after it washed ashore near the Del Mar city limit late yesterday morning, according to Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve staffers.
News video from the scene showed a skip loader lift the carcass, presumably so it could be disposed of. It was not immediately clear how the whale died.
