Gunshots, Helicopter Part of the Script as TV Show Takes Over Grand Del Mar

A pilot being made at the resort will include simulated gunfire, a hovering helicopter and a lot of smoke Monday and Tuesday.

The sound of gunfire will ring out at the Grand Del Mar Monday and Tuesday but bullets won’t be flying, as the simulated shots will be fired by actors shooting a TV show.

Production crews are at the resort making a pilot for a potential television series that will include gunfire, smoke and a low-flying helicopter, according to a resort spokeswoman. No details were available about the name of the series, the cast or network.

The Sheriff’s Department says that simulated gunfire may be heard in the area Monday from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. when an exterior scene will be shot featuring the unnamed star escaping in a car.

All scenes will be shot on Grand Del Mar property.
