HNTB Corporation, a national infrastructure solutions firm with nine offices in California, has named Michael Palacios, PE, as West Division operations officer based in the firm’s San Diego office.
Responsible for HNTB’s offices in California, Utah, Oregon and Washington state, Palacios brings nearly 20 years of experience in the planning and design of transportation infrastructure, as well as operations and strategic business development, from prior work in California.

In his most recent role as vice president and San Diego area manager for Parsons Brinckerhoff, Palacios managed an office of more than 70 multidisciplinary professionals, working on various rail, transit and aviation projects with numerous transportation agencies throughout the region. Palacios is a registered professional engineer and holds a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He is also actively involved with the San Diego chapter of Women’s Transportation Seminar, serves as co-chair of the Transportation Committee for the American Council of Engineering Companies California San Diego Chapter, and is a member of the California Department of Transportation District 11 Calmentor Steering Committee.
