New School to Ease Overcrowding at Carmel Valley Middle School

The new middle school is planned to open in August 2015.

A new middle school that is planned to be built next to Canyon Crest Academy will reduce the number of students attending Carmel Valley Middle School, U-T San Diego reported.

San Dieguito Union High School District officials say the new school will take the load off Carmel Valley Middle School, home to around 1,500 students. Officials told the paper they plan on having each school enroll about 1,000 students.

The new school, which has not been named yet, is planned to open in phases beginning August 2015.
