Thieves Use Handcart to Steal ATM From Hotel

Two suspects stole an ATM from The Grand Del Mar early Friday, police say.

San Diego police are investigating the early morning theft of an ATM from The Grand Del Mar hotel Friday.

Just before 3 a.m., two males wearing dark hooded sweatshirts that covered their faces entered the hotel with a handcart, according to police. They entered through doors near an elevator next to the ATM and loaded the machine onto the handcart. They left the hotel with the ATM and fled the scene.

Police found the ATM later Friday in a field in the 13600 block of Carmel Valley Road. Police did not release the condition of the machine or if any money was missing.
