Viewing Part for Today's Little League World Series Game

The telecast begins at noon.

A viewing party for ABC’s telecast of the Sweetwater Valley Little League all-star team’s game in the Little League World Series today will be held at the league’s field in Bonita.

The gates to the field at 3321 Conduit Road will open at 10:30 a.m. The telecast of the double-elimination game against the team representing Texas’ Pearland West Little League is set to begin at noon and be shown on a 20-foot by 10-foot high-definition screen.

Fans can bring chairs and blankets onto the field. They are encouraged to wear blue and white, matching the colors of the uniforms the Sweetwater Valley team will be wearing as the West Region champion in the game in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

Food can be purchased from food trucks, with proceeds donated to the team, or the field’s snack bar. Team merchandise will be sold.

Sweetwater Valley opened play in the Little League World Series by defeating the team representing Kentucky’s Bowling Green Eastern Little League, the Great Lakes Region champion, 14-2, on Friday in a game called in the top of the fourth inning because of the 10-run rule.

Sweetwater Valley tied a Little League World Series record by hitting five home runs in the third inning.

Pearland West, the Southwest Regional champion, was a 1-0 winner over the team representing Oregon’s Wilshire-Riverside Little League on Friday.

Sweetwater Valley is 17-0 in its four tournaments.

A victory today would advance Sweetwater Valley to a game Wednesday against the winner of today’s game between teams representing Pennsylvania’s Red Land Little League, the Mid-Atlantic Region champion, and South Carolina’s Northwood Little League, the Southeast Region champion.

A loss would put Sweetwater Valley into an elimination game Monday against the team representing Rhode Island’s Cranston Western Little League, the New England Region champion.
