12 Encinitans Finish Boston Marathon, Site of Fatal Blasts, Many Injuries

Four others had registered, but records show they didn't run the race.

A dozen Encinitas residents finished the Boston Marathon before explosions reportedly claimed the lives of three people and injured more than 100 near the finish line.

According to the Boston Athletic Association site, these Encinitas entrants had finished before the blasts, which TV showed happened about 2 hours after the start.

The site also shows four others had registered but did not run the race.

All marks are “gun times,” but not the actual times from start to finish, since many thousands of entrants don’t reach the starting line until minutes after the gun goes off.
