Bethany Hamilton Makes a Splash at Hansen's Surf in Encinitas
The pro surfer and shark attack survivor signed posters for fans. She will be competing in the Supergirl Pro surfing contest in Oceanside this weekend.

Bethany Hamilton, the pro surfer, shark attack survivor and inspiration for the movie "Soul Surfer" stopped by Hansen's Surf in Encinitas Thursday to sign posters for fans and promote her new line of Cobain Sandals.
Hamilton, who lives in Kauai, Hawaii, was mobbed by fans who arrived at Hansen's as early as 8 am for a chance to meet her. Some fans came from out-of-state to meet her, causing Hansen's to cut off the line after 250 signatures.
Those who didn't get to meet Hamilton in Encinitas will be able to catch her competing in the Ford Supergirl Pro surfing contest, the worlds' largest women's surf contest. The contest runs this Friday-Sunday at the Oceanside Pier.
