Oliver Nelson’s 1961 “Blue and the Abstract Truth” is considered a masterpiece in the canon of jazz history. The MiraCosta Jazz Collective will perform the complete recording, while instructor Steve Torok presents an accompanying lecture highlighting the songs and style of the great composer, arranger and saxophonist Oliver Nelson.
