Encinitas Branch of SD County Credit Union To Host Blood Drive

ENCINITAS, CA — The San Diego County Credit Union is hosting six blood drives Tuesday, June 1 — five in San Diego County, including one in Encinitas, and one in Riverside County.

Over the past year, the COVID-19 pandemic has strained community blood supplies, the financial institution said, urging locals to step up and donate as "lives depend on it!"

In Encinitas, the blood drive will be at San Diego County Credit Union at 501 North El Camino Real.

"Blood donations are especially critical at this time of year after a busy winter season, and this year has been especially challenging," SDCCU officials said. " While an increased need for blood exists, donations have decreased due to businesses and community partners being unable to host normal drives because of newly implemented work-from-home policies and restrictions on gatherings."
