Encinitas City Council Election 2020: 4 Compete For 2 Seats
Encinitas voters will elect council members to serve in District 1 and District 2.
ENCINITAS, CA — Voters in two council districts will decide in Tuesday's general election which candidate they want to represent them on the Encinitas City Council.
Four candidates are vying for the District 1 and District 2 seats on the council.
Incumbent Tony Kranz is facing opponent Alex Riley for the District 1 seat. Kranz was first elected to the council in 2012. Riley is a retired San Diego lifeguard.

Kellie Hinze, who currently serves as deputy mayor, is facing candidate Susan Turney for the District 2 seat. Hinze was appointed to the council in 2018 following a vacancy left by now State Assemblymember Tasha Boerner Horvath. Turney is a business development consultant.
