Encinitas Mayoral Election 2020: Blakespear Faces Thunder
Encinitas Mayor Catherine Blakespear is running for re-election against candidate Julie Thunder.
ENCINITAS, CA — Encinitas voters will decide whether to re-elect the mayor or elect her opponent in Tuesday's general election.
Candidate Julie Thunder is running against Mayor Catherine Blakespear.
Blakespear, who has served as mayor since 2016, also serves as vice chair of the SANDAG board of directors and as a board member of the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority. Prior to being elected mayor, Blakespear was elected to the City Council in 2014.

Thunder serves as co-publisher of The Encinitas Current, a local newsletter covering current events, stories and politics. She has served on the board of directors of Cardiff Soccer League, worked as a software developer and managed a consulting business.
