Flood Advisory Issued For Encinitas
Showers will become heavier by late Wednesday morning and continue into the early afternoon across the county, according to the NWS.
ENCINITAS, CA — The National Weather Service has issued an urban and small stream flood advisory for San Diego County.
The advisory is in effect until 2:30 p.m. Wednesday throughout the region, including Encinitas. A flash flood watch is also in effect until 6 p.m. for the county's coastal areas, mountains and valleys.

Showers will become heavier by late Wednesday morning and continue into the early afternoon across the county, according to the NWS. Rainfall rates of 0.15 to 0.25 inches per hour will briefly increase to 0.25 to 0.50 inches per hour.
"This will cause urban and small stream flooding to low lying areas and poor drainages," weather officials said. "Expect ponding of water on roadways and intersections. Area creeks and streams will rise rapidly."

Some locations that will likely experience flooding include Carlsbad, Chula Vista, El Cajon, Encinitas, La Mesa, National City, Oceanside, Poway and Vista, according to the NWS.
"Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads," weather officials said. "Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles."
