High Wind Warning In Effect For Encinitas
Weather officials warned of possible downed trees and power lines that could result in power outages.
ENCINITAS, CA — Strong, gusty winds are expected during another winter storm Monday in San Diego County.

A high wind warning is in effect from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday in the county's coastal areas, including Encinitas. Winds from 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph are expected, according to the National Weather Service.

Weather officials warned of possible downed trees and power lines that could result in power outages.
"People should avoid being outside in forested areas and around trees and branches," forecasters said. "If possible, remain in the lower levels of your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Use caution if you must drive."

A wind advisory is also in effect from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday in the county's valleys. Winds from 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 55 mph are expected, according to the National Weather Service.
"Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects," forecasters said. "Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result."
