Friends and family in town? Show them your lagoon.
San Elijo Lagoon Conservancy naturalists will lead free public tours during the Holiday season. Visitors to the coastal lagoon will enjoy festive colors—red “holly” berries of the green Toyon and white-flowering Coyote Brush. Welcome, birds! As winter approaches the lagoon nurtures winged visitors during the Pacific flyway migration, here to rest and refuel at our important wetlands.

See a variety of shorebirds and ducks. Approximately 40% of North America’s bird species have been observed in this place where ocean meets land. Trailgoers might see Mullet, slender silvery fishes, splash from the water. This is life between the tides at one of San Diego’s largest coastal wetlands. Free. All ages.
