See San Elijo Lagoon at Low Tide. Naturalist-Led Walk to Reveal Diversity of Local and Migratory Birds.
Did you know that San Elijo Lagoon is a recognized birding hot spot? More than half of our county’s bird species have been observed at this protected wetland. And, migration along the Pacific flyway is under way, which means more birds of all sizes and shapes that will be wintering here.
Join the San Elijo Lagoon Conservancy naturalist-guided tour:

At lower tide, you’re likely to observe greater numbers of shorebirds probing the oozy mudflats for worms, clams, and other edibles. It’s common to see the Great Egret soar above lagoon waters, slowly turning circles on its long, white wings in search of fish.
