SeaWorld Reopening As Coronavirus Restrictions Are Lifted
The San Diego park will reopen with no rides in operation and with a limited capacity after California lifted its stay-at-home orders.
SAN DIEGO, CA — SeaWorld San Diego is set to reopen on Saturday in a limited capacity after remaining closed for the last two months as a result of California’s regional stay-at-home orders for the coronavirus pandemic.
In its reopening announcement, SeaWorld said it will follow the state’s safety guidelines for zoos and aquariums and will only operate as an animal park — meaning no rides will be in operation.
The decision to reopen comes after Gov. Gavin Newsom rolled back the stay-at-home orders in late-January, citing the state’s improved COVID-19 conditions.
