Small Roof Fire in Leucadia Quickly Extinguished

Encinitas firefighters battled a small fire on the roof of a home in Leucadia early Wednesday, which was extinguished in about 10 minutes. 

The residents were not home at the time of the fire at around 2 a.m., but someone else reported the blaze on Neptune Avenue near Jupiter Street, Encinitas fire Capt. Robert Voorhees told U-T San Diego.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
