Wind Advisory Issued For Encinitas

Wind gusts up to 35 miles per hour are possible in the region, according to the NWS.​​​

ENCINITAS, CA — The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for San Diego County.

The advisory is in effect until noon Thursday in the county's coastal areas and valleys, including the cities of Carlsbad, Chula Vista, El Cajon, Encinitas, Escondido, La Mesa, National City, Poway, San Diego, San Marcos, Santee and Vista.

"Gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects," weather officials said. "Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result."

Southeast winds from 10 to 20 miles per hour with gusts up to 35 miles per hour are possible in the region, according to the NWS.

"Use extra caution when driving, especially if operating a high profile vehicle," weather officials said.
