Ash Wednesday Services Planned in Hollywood

Ash Wednesday services are planned around town today — marking the first day of Lent. For Christians, it is a time of reflection and fasting in preparation of Easter. Below are a few of the services planned today:

• First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood will hold its service at 7 p.m. tonight.

• Ashes will be distributed at Blessed Sacrament Church during services at 8 a.m., 12:05 p.m., 1:30 p.m., 3 p.m., 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. Mass will be held at the noon service.

• Ecclesia Hollywood will observe the day with services at noon and 7:30 p.m.

• Hollywood United Methodist Church will have a service at 7:30 p.m.

• Hollywood Adventist Church will have their services at 7 a.m. and 7:30 p.m.
