Biker Killed In 210 Freeway Crash Identified

A 58-year-old motorcyclist died in a crash that shut down the (210) Freeway in Pasadena.

PASADENA, CA — Authorities Friday released the name of a motorcyclist from Riverside who was killed in a collision on the Foothill (210) Freeway in Pasadena.

Douglas Thatcher, 58, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash, which was reported about 12:20 p.m. Tuesday on the westbound side of the freeway west of Hill Avenue.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the motorcyclist was splitting lanes between the left main lane and the carpool lane when the bike made contact with a Volkswagen Beetle in the carpool lane. The impact threw the rider, who was then struck by a westbound big rig, according to the CHP.
