Broken Spanish Takes Temporary Residency In Neuehouse

The popular downtown restaurant closed indefinitely in 2020 due to the pandemic.

HOLLYWOOD, CA — Fans of Broken Spanish were sad to hear the restaurant would be closing its downtown location for good in 2020 due to the pandemic, but now have a reason to be hopeful — if only temporarily. The popular eatery has returned to Hollywood for a temporary residency at NeueHouse, the private workspace facility on Sunset Boulevard.

Helmed by Los Angeles native Ray Garcia, the spanish restaurant made a name for itself with flavors authentic to Mexico and Southern California, with tempting dishes such as the popular chicharrón. The pop-up will also feature seasonal dishes and duck meatballs, along with the restaurant's signature cocktails.

Previously, Neuehouse has hosted pop-ups such as Grá, an Echo Park pizzeria.

"We’re incredibly excited to bring Broken Spanish to Neuehouse for a month long residency & experience," Broken Spanish wrote. "As a team we’re happy to be back with our incredible city of LA, and to do this with a creative and cultural home like Neuehouse. We’re looking forward to sharing all that this partnership has inspired."

Keeping with social distancing guidelines, the restaurant will The residency will start on February 25, and run on Thursdays-Saturdays until March 27.
