Hollywood Hills Brush Fire At Laurel Canyon Contained

It took firefighters about two hours and 20 minutes to extinguish the brush fire.

HOLLYWOOD, CA — Los Angeles Fire Department has contained a brush fire in the Hollywood Hills off Laurel Canyon Boulevard 80 firefighters were called to work on the blaze, which required about two hours and 20 minutes to contain. No injuries or structural damage were reported.

The fire was first reported around noon at Laurel Canyon Boulevard and Tianna Road just south of Mulholland Drive. At its largest point, the fire spanned about three acres. Firefighters posted outside nearby homes to prevent the fire from spreading onto private property.

An aggressive ground and air attack by firefighters skillfully protected nearby homes and kept the fire to a relatively small footprint," said Nicholas Prange of LAFD. "LAFD Crew 3A and 3B (volunteer hand crew) assisted with the fight and will continue to improve the perimeter and extinguish hot spots within the burn footprint aside LAFD firefighters during "mop up."

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
