Center For Early Education Targeted By Hackers, FBI Investigating

Hackers leaked school payroll information in emails containing racist, sexist and homophobic language according to the Hollywood Reporter.

HOLLYWOOD, CA — Digital servers from an elite private school in Hollywood were recently hacked, according to report from the Hollywood Reporter. The outlet reported the The Center for Early Education's security system was compromised, with at least one hacker sending out email blasts containing payroll information along with racist, sexist and homophobic language.

THR said the messages were sent to children along with parents, occasionally framed as party invites involving some of the school's prominent parents, with one email suggesting white teachers deserved a pay raise. The FBI confirmed that it was working with the school to determine the identity of the hacker.

"We're aware of it and are working with affected schools," FBI spokeswoman Laura Eimiller told City News Service.
