Clear the Shelters Event Means $20 Dog & Cat Adoptions Across LA
Los Angeles County residents will have a special chance to bring a furry friend into the family at a one-day cost of $5-$20.
LOS ANGELES, CA — Southland residents looking to add a furry friend to their household will be able to do so at discounted rates Saturday, as the city and county of Los Angeles again take part in an annual "Clear the Shelters" event.
The national adoption event, supported by NBCUniversal-owned television stations, will slash the cost of adopting dogs, cats and rabbits. At Los Angeles County's seven shelters, dog and cat adoptions will cost just $20, while rabbit adoptions will cost only $5.
The same prices will be offered for dog and cat adoptions at LA Animal Services shelters, but the city centers will waive all adoption fees for dogs aged 5 and older, thanks to the additional support of The Pet Care Foundation. VCA Animal Hospital teams will also be at the city shelters, providing certificates for free health exams for newly adopted pets.
