Emmy Winners 2017: The Complete List
"The Handmaid's Tale" wins the Emmy for best drama, and "Veep" star Julia Louis-Dreyfus reigns as the queen of comedy at the 2017 Emmys.

LOS ANGELES, CA — "The Handmaid's Tale" swept in the drama category at the 69th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards on Sept. 17. The show won best series, while stars Elisabeth Moss and Ann Dowd took home the awards for best lead actress and best supporting actress.
Among the first-time Emmy 2017 winners were Sterling K. Brown of "This Is Us" who won best actor in a drama series and Donald Glover who took home best actor in the comedy series "Atlanta."
Familiar faces to take the stage included "Veep" star Julia Louis-Dreyfus who won best actress just before the series won for best comedy. Long-time actress Nicole Kidman also won her first Emmy for lead actress in the limited series "Big Little Lies."

Emmy host Stephen Colbert kicked off the ceremony with quite a bang. After making light of President Trump's previous Emmy loss, every jaw in the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles dropped when former White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer took the stage behind a fake Emmy podium.
