Fire Damages Two East Hollywood Homes Thursday Morning
The fire started in a detached garage, and also damaged a nearby vacant home.
EAST HOLLYWOOD, CA — A fire damaged an East Hollywood home Thursday morning, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department. The fire was reported at 9:42 a.m. in a garage at 1839 N Kenmore Ave, near the corner of Franklin Avenue.
Brian Humphrey of the LAFD said the flames were threatening four adjacent buildings, including a vacant two-story home that did sustain damage. 85 firefighters were sent to battle the flames, and the fire was extinguished at 10:25 a.m.
"85 Firefighters took 43 minutes with largely defensive firefighting operations to extinguish flames in a detached garage, surrounded by excessive outdoor storage, that was well involved with fire," Humphrey said.
