Helen Bernstein High Visits Raytheon for Engineers Week

Helen Bernstein High School is invited to technology company Raytheon for Engineers Week.

Helen Bernstein High School was among about 25 high schools invited Wednesday to participate in tours and workshops at Raytheon's El Segundo facility as part of National Engineers Week.

Employees of the technology company staged a skit, asking students to create an alternative fuel source for comic hero Iron Man's propulsion system. The students were tasked with building an ion lift out of various materials provided by Raytheon.

After that, students were taken on a tour of several labs in the facility. Members of the media were not permitted to accompany students on the tour.

Raytheon hosted more than 200 middle and elementary school students on Monday to kick off Engineers Week.
