Does Sunset Boulevard Need a Crosswalk Near Guitar Center? [Video]
A concerned resident who lives in the neighborhood near Sunset Blvd. between Gardner and Poinsettia creates a video showing the dangers of the busy street.
Navigating the streets of Hollywood by car or by foot has its fair share of hazards, but for pedestrians in one neighborhood crossing the street may feel like the old arcade game Frogger.
There's a stretch of about four blocks on Sunset Boulevard without a designated crossing area between Poinsettia Place and Gardner Street. You'll find businesses like Guitar Center, Sam Ash, El Compadre Restaurant and Aroma Cafe along the street.
A recent post on Curbed L.A. pointed us to Adam J. Choit a filmmaker in the neighborhood who created a video documenting the hazards pedestrians face when crossing the road.Â

He wrote to the city's Department of Transportation, which in response dismissed the idea. Now Choit is sharing the video in hopes that support will spread.
As one person mentioned in the video, all it takes is one person distracted by a cell phone to swerve into a pedestrian waiting to cross from a median.
