Hollywood Police Chase Ends In Crash, Road Closure
A portion of Franklin Avenue was closed Thursday evening after a theft suspect crashed an SUV into several vehicles.
HOLLYWOOD, CA — A police chase ended in a multi-vehicle crash in Hollywood Thursday afternoon, shutting down a portion of Franklin Avenue.
A theft suspect attempted to flee from officers in a BMW SUV, according to the LAPD. However, the chase ended not long after it began when the suspect crashed into multiple vehicles, triggering the closure of Franklin Avenue between Highland Avenue and North Orange Drive.
It started shortly before 5 p.m. when police officers responded to a report of a suspect stealing a license plate in 1600 north Hermosa Avenue, said LAPD officer Tony Im.

Following the chase, officers were in the process of taking the suspect into custody, said Im.
As of 6 p.m., the area remained closed to traffic, and computers were advised to avoid the area.
