Irv's Burgers Returning To West Hollywood For One Day Only
The burger stand closed in 2018 after opening along Route 66 in 1946.
WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA — More than two years after closing its doors for good, Irv's Burgers will return to West Hollywood for a one day pop-up to celebrate National Burger Day. The pop-up will be held at Employees Only at 7953 Santa Monica Boulevard, around the corner from it's previous brick and mortar location in WeHo.
Popular owner Sonia Hong will serve up double cheeseburgers, fries and Stella Artois from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. Friday. Limited edition hats and t-shirts will also be available for sale, and patrons can bask in the glory of Mama Hong's personalized paper plate drawings while they eat.
The experience was put together through a collaboration with Employees Only's Summer Social Club and Off The Menu.

Irv's Burgers was forced to permanently close in October 2018 due to rent increases. Co-owner Sean Hong died due to complications from a stroke the year prior.
The restaurant first opened along Route 66 in 1946, and was named Queenie's until a man named Irv Gendis took over and made it his own. Gendis later sold it to Hong in 2000, who engraved herself to customers' hearts through handmade doodles of each person who ordered a burger.
