Jane Fonda Honored By Hollywood Foreign Press Association
Fonda has won seven Golden Globes in her career, and currently holds weekly events to raise awareness of the dangers of global warming.

HOLLYWOOD, CA — Actress Jane Fonda Tuesday was honored with the Hollywood Foreign Press Association's Cecil B. DeMille Award, which celebrates a person's lasting impact on the film industry.
Fonda, 83, will receive the honor at the Golden Globes ceremony on February 28.
"The Hollywood Foreign Press Association takes great pride in bestowing the 2021 Cecil B. DeMille Award to Jane Fonda," HFPA President Ali Sar said in a statement. "For more than five decades, Jane's breadth of work has been anchored in her unrelenting activism, using her platform to address some of the most important social issues of our time."

Past recipients include Jeff Bridges, Robert De Niro, Audrey Hepburn, and Sidney Poitier among other actors. Tom Hanks received the award last year.
Fonda has won seven Golden Globes in her career, the first coming in 1962 for "Tall Story." Fonda was also awarded for films such as Klute, Julia and Coming Home, the latter two films also earning her back-to-back Oscars.

The famed actress is also known for her activism, notably her protests during the Vietnam War. She also holds weekly "Fire Drill Friday" events designed to raise awareness of global warming.
"Her undeniable talent has gained her the highest level of recognition, and while her professional life has taken many turns, her unwavering commitment to evoking change has remained," HFPA continued. "We are honored to celebrate her achievements at the 2021 Golden Globe Awards."
