LAFD Airlifts Woman From Griffith Park On Memorial Day
The woman was hiking north of the Mount Hollywood Tunnel when she injured her ankle.

HOLLYWOOD, CA — A hiker who injured her ankle in Griffith Park required an airlift from the Los Angeles Fire Department on Memorial Day. The distress call came in around 4:54 p.m. Monday afternoon, according to Brian Humphrey of the LAFD.
The woman was hiking on a trail north of the Mount Hollywood Tunnel when she suffered the injury. LAFD ground and air teams, along with park rangers, responded to assist the woman while she was hoisted onto an LAFD Rescue Helicopter, to be treated in air on the way to a nearby hospital.
Details of what caused the injury weren't immediately available.
