Man Killed While Walking On the 101 Freeway Identified

Authorities don't know why the 24-year-old man was walking on the freeway.

HOLLYWOOD HILLS, CA — Authorities Monday identified a 24-year-old man who was struck by a car on the Hollywood (101) Freeway in the Hollywood Hills and died at the scene.

The fatality occurred at 8:30 p.m. Saturday on the northbound 101, north of Highland Avenue, California Highway Patrol Officer Patrick Kimball said.

According to the CHP, Denzel Davis for unknown reasons ran onto the freeway and directly into the path of a 2014 Toyota Prius going at least 65 miles per hour.

The motorist, a 34-year-old woman whose name was withheld, was unable to take evasion action, according to the CHP. The driver was not injured.

Davis' home town was not known.
