New Mayor Pro Tempore Of West Hollywood, Lauren Meister, Sworn In

Lauren Meister has served on West Hollywood City Council since 2015.

WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA — The City of West Hollywood Tuesday swore in a Councilmember Lauren Meister as the new Mayor Pro Tempore. Meister, who has served on the City Council since 2015, will work to protect the city's parks and green space, advocate for fair parking policies, and initiate policies to protect affordable housing and area small businesses.

Meister has lived in West Hollywood for over 25 years, and first became involved with the city by serving as neighborhood watch captain. She later attended the West Hollywood Sheriff's Community Academy, eventually leading the city's largest neighborhood association.

In office, Meister worked to strengthen the Rent Stabilization Ordinance, develop neighborhood-friendly planning and provide social services for people experiencing homeless, among other efforts. She also teamed up with mayors across America to support the preservation of the Affordable Care Act, and testified before Congress in support of health insurance regulation and universal health care.
