One Person Killed, Toddler Injured In 101 Freeway Solo Crash
Authorities said the car ran off the freeway into an embankment, before returning to the freeway and stopping in the number four lane.
EAST HOLLYWOOD, CA — A 23-year-old woman died in a Monday night solo-vehicle crash on the northbound 101 Freeway, and a two-year-old boy was hospitalized with a head injury. The collision happened near the Santa Monica Boulevard exit around 9:25.
According to California Highway Patrol, a Hyundai Accent slammed into a wall along the right side of the freeway. An early investigation found the car veered off the freeway and into an embankment, crashing into the a fence before returning to the freeway and stopping in the number four lane.
Authorities identified Arin Pugh of Los Angeles as the victim in the crash. It's unknown if drugs or alcohol played a role in the accident.

Three lanes on the freeway were closed while crews cleaned up the crash.
