LOS ANGELES, CA — Hollywood will be forced to share the stage on its biggest night of the year for the 93rd Academy Awards. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences on Wednesday announced plans to hold an in-person Oscars ceremony spread out among multiple locations.

Hollywood's Dolby Theatre has hosted the Oscars for two decades, and it will again on April 25. However, the nominees, hosts and audience will be spread out among multiple locations to limit the dangers posed by the coronavirus.

“In this unique year that has asked so much of so many, the Academy is determined to present an Oscars like none other, while prioritizing the public health and safety of all those who will participate," the Academy announced in a statement. "To create the in-person show, our global audience wants to see, while adapting to the requirements of the pandemic, the ceremony will broadcast live from multiple locations, including the landmark Dolby Theatre. We look forward to sharing more details soon.”
