'OUT on Robertson' To Turn Boulevard Into Pedestrian Zone
The program hopes to facilitate outdoor dining and other weekend activities in the heart of West Hollywood.
HOLLYWOOD, CA — Weekends on Robertson Boulevard are about to look a bit more vibrant, just in time for summer. The City of West Hollywood will officially launch "OUT on Robertson" this Saturday, which will designate a section of the popular street a pedestrian-only zone to encourage weekend activity.
The program will close Roberson Boulevard between Santa Monica Boulevard and Melrose Boulevard from Saturday at 6 p.m. until late night on Sunday. That stretch of street includes a plethora of restaurants, shops and bars, including Bossa Nova, Murano, Sur Restaurant & Lounge and more.
"OUT on Robertson will embrace, on weekends, what compact OUT Zones throughout the City have been offering for months: a place to enjoy sunny days and balmy nights while maintaining social distance, aligning with health and safety protocols, and supporting community businesses," the city said in a press release. "OUT on Robertson will give people who live, work, and play in West Hollywood more opportunities to stay outside under palm trees by day and starry skies at night, all while enjoying the best of what West Hollywood has to offer."

Parking will be available at the five-story parking structure at 625 N. San Vicente Boulevard. Rideshare drop offs will be at the corner of Melrose Avenue and N. Robertson Boulevard.
"Closing this highly trafficked and bustling stretch of Robertson will provide a pedestrian-safe space that allows for appropriate social distancing as the Public Health Department eases capacity restrictions while still monitoring the spread of the virus,” said City of West Hollywood Councilmember John M. Erickson. “COVID is not over and we all must remain vigilant about protecting our own health, and the health of others. I’m looking forward to safely seeing you — at a distance and with your most fabulous masks on — OUT on Robertson!”
