Pedestrian Struck and Killed in East Hollywood ID'd
Authorities identified a 31-year-old man killed by a man suspected of driving under the influence.

LOS ANGELES, CA — A man struck and killed by a suspected drunken driver in the East Hollywood area of Los Angeles was identified Wednesday.
Timothy Martinez was 31 years old, the coroner's office said. His city of residence was not available.
The crash was reported at 2:24 a.m. Monday at Santa Monica Boulevard and Vermont Avenue, the LAPD said.

A 2017 Lexus RX350 driven by Nyamdorj Gankhuyag was headed north on Vermont Avenue when he struck the man, police said. Gankhuyag was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol, police said. He was booked on a charge of vehicular manslaughter.
Gankhuyag was released later in the day on $100,000 bail, according to L.A. County jail records.

Martinez was pronounced dead at the scene, the coroner's office said.
