The installation will be on display through July 2022.
HOLLYWOOD, CA — West Hollywood will now be illuminated with a special exhibit by artist Kiduck Kim. "Meringue," a sculpture installation featuring energy-efficient LEDs and high-density polyethylene, will reside in the Ocean-Friendly Garden along Santa Monica Boulevard, just east of N. Doheny Drive.
Meringue will feature changeable lighting colors that will rotate in coordination with city events and celebrations. The installation will be illuminated with rainbow colors for the duration of June to highlight pride month.
"The sensual curves of Meringue invite touch, and the artist intends it to feel like a portal to travel without moving — that you travel when you come in contact with it, not physically, but in the imagination," the city said. "The translucency ofMeringue lets sunlight in to glow naturally during the daytime, and at night transforms Meringue into a mixing chamber of various light combinations."
