Pink's Hot Dogs Reopens After Two Month Closure

The legendary hot dog stand opened back up on Monday morning, now that hospital capacity has increased in Los Angeles.

HOLLYWOOD, CA — Pink's Hot Dogs reopened on Monday, after closing for the past two months due to a renewed surge of coronavirus. The hot pink stand on La Brea and Melrose Avenue announced at the beginning of January that they would take the time off, aiming to keep staff and patrons safe in the process.

"One more sleep! Pink's will be re-re-opening tomorrow (Monday) morning at 9:30 am! We can't wait to be back. Stop by and say HELLO!" Pink's announced via Twitter Sunday night.

The famed hot dog stand has been in business since 1939. When first announcing the temporary closure, owner Richard Pink told the Los Angeles Daily News he had hoped the hospitals would be less overwhelmed by the time he reopened. ICU capacity has opened up dramatically since then, while patients in the hospital with a confirmed coronavirus case has dropped 42.9% in the past two weeks according to data from the Los Angeles Times.
