Armor-Clad Man Killed By LAPD In Hollywood
A man who approached police wearing body armor after driving into a squad car was fatally shot by officers on Sunset Boulevard on Sunday.
HOLLYWOOD, CA — Los Angeles police fatally shot a man clad in body armor who approached officers in a peculiar way in Hollywood on Saturday. The incident shut down world-famous Sunset Boulevard near Fairfax Avenue for hours.
Around 2:35 p.m. Saturday, officers were driving to respond to a radio call with lights and sirens on when a car pulled in front of them, stopped abruptly and reversed, ramming into their squad car, Los Angeles Police Department officials said.
The driver stepped out of his car wearing body armor, with his right hand hidden behind him, officers wrote on Twitter. He moved toward the officers, who had gotten out of their patrol car.

The armored man then counted down — "3, 2, 1" — and began to move his concealed arm in front of his body. Before he could fully do so, he was struck by gunfire. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives were still gathering evidence and conducting an investigation on the matter.
