Record Store Day: Amoeba Music Announces Menu, Extended Hours
Amoeba Music will celebrate its first Record Store Day at its new building with special edition records, t-shirts and more.
HOLLYWOOD, CA — This Saturday, Amoeba Music will celebrate its first Record Store Day since moving to its new location.
"Although Record Store Day is usually held on a Saturday in April, this year will be different as the pandemic continues to affect production, shipping, and much more around the world," Amoeba said. "There will be two Record Store Day Drops -- Saturday, June 12 and Saturday, July 17 -- each with a different selection of limited edition releases available only at indie record stores."
A long list of exclusive titles will be available for purchase, including records from Ariana Grande, Al Green, Donny Hathaway, Lady Gaga and many more. Amoeba will also offer a special giveaway featuring a portable Beatles "Yellow Submarine" turntable, limited to only 1,500 units worldwide.

Amoeba will be open for extended hours from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. to give shoppers extra time to snag the records they want. Customers who want Record Store Day titles can lineup outside the store on Hollywood Boulevard, where they will be given a menu to mark down the titles they want. Amoeba staffers will then take the menus and give customers a clip to pickup their bag.
Orders will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis. Bags will be available for pickup at the registers, where shoppers can sort through their items and put back anything they don't want.

Customers who aren't interested in the special edition titles can line up on Argyle Street to browse the store as usual.
Amoeba's Hollywood location will also offer two special edition t-shirts designed by L.A. artist Sam Grinberg. Proceeds from the shirts will benefit Silver Lake Conservatory of Music's Scholarship Program.
